Her oil, graphite, and charcoal works reflect our commitment to interiors that resonate with the natural world, harmonizing wilderness with luxurious living. Amy's distinctive style, which forgoes exact references for memory and creative expression, aligns with our desire for authentic, bespoke environments.

Amy Lay Bio:

Amy's paintings, characterized by their vibrancy, a sense of looseness, and a comfortably unconventional style, draw inspiration from remote mountain hideaways in Wyoming, the Wallowa Mountains of Northeastern Oregon, as well as the striking landscapes of Arizona and the Sonoran Desert. Residing in these diverse regions, Amy cultivates a deep appreciation and fascination for nature, wildlife, and ecology. Largely self-taught but supported by an Art Degree from Eastern Oregon University, Amy's career has evolved from a childhood dream to a significant reality.

She predominantly uses oil pigment, along with graphite and charcoal, to bring her artworks to life. A bold use of color, forceful yet straightforward design, and a transient quality influenced by her early years painting solely in watercolor, all contribute to the highly recognizable and unique signature of Amy's work. Notably, her minimal reliance on references, opting instead for memory and imaginative expression, gives her animal subjects a distinctly non-photographic identity. Amy's artwork fluidly navigates the often blurry line between realism and abstraction, as well as traditional and contemporary styles, captivating a wide range of collectors, including both long-time aficionados of wildlife art and proponents of modern artistic expressions.

Amy's creations are now housed in private collections throughout the United States including Sue Bickerdyke Interiors Showroom and Fine Art Gallery in Carefree, AZ.
